Usher Transport - Safety

Welcome to the Usher Transport, Inc. Safety Department. Usher Transport has a nationally recognized Safety program which has been honored by numerous organizations including National Tank Truck Carriers, American Trucking Association, Chevron Oil, Ashland Chemical and BP. Usher Transport was recently awarded the merit awards for Highway and personnel Safety by National Tank Carriers along with a 23 year improvement award.

Usher Transport's Safety Program is led by David Guess who is a certified Director of Safety and Hazardous Materials responder. He has over 18 years in the trucking business. David is the current state representative to the ATA for the Kentucky Motor Transport association, a member of the National Truck Driving Championships, Chairman of the accident review committe and Vice Chair of the Regulations Committee the American Trucking Associations Safety Council and the Kentucky Motor Transport's Safety Council. David also serves as a board member to the Kentucky Motor Trnasport Association. David also serves on various committees within CVSA.

Directing Usher Transport's Safety and Loss Control Program is Beau Mosley. Having served in mission-critical positions within the industry, Beau brings a unique perspective to safety management as he has worked in many of the areas affecting organizational culture when it comes to safety.


Mr. Mosley is a well-trained and professional advocate in the arena of safety, loss control, and driver training. He is credentialed through the North American Transportation Management Institute as a Certified Director of Safety. Beau also holds certifications at the OSHA 30-Hour Level, Smith System Certified Trainer, National Traffic Incident Management Certification, FMCSA Parts (A) and (B) Certified, FMCSA Hazardous Materials Certified, Cargo Tank Certified, FMCSA Trucks & Terrorism Certification, Public Affairs Media Certification, Dept. of Homeland Security Certification, and FEMA Emergency Management Certified.


Before joining the private sector, Mr. Mosley's first career was with the Kentucky State Police where he served as a Commercial Enforcement Officer for many years. During his tenure, Mr. Mosley was awarded the Kentucky State Police "Officer of the Year Award" on three different occasions.

Usher Transport has emergency response teams located in Louisville and Paducah, KY with the VP of Safety & Human Resources, David Guess, leading the response team as certified Incident Commander and all other team members are certified to Technician level, along with a fully stocked emergency response trailer. We are a member of National Tank Truck Carriers Mutual Aid Society for carriers and customers needing assistance with hazardous material incidents.
